Introduction

Picture

I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at Hamilton College. Broadly, my research explores how disparities in health and healthcare provision emerge and are maintained.

In my research, I employ quantitative and qualitative methods to discern how inequality unfolds across social contexts. Substantively, I focus on these issues with respect to medical education/practice, mental health, and social networks.

My research has been published in the American Sociological Review, the Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science & Medicine, Society and Mental Health, the Annual Review of Sociology, and Sociology of Race & Ethnicity. I received a Ph.D. in sociology from Indiana University and a B.A. in sociology and psychology from Boston University.
